# How to Borrow

Before borrowing, an asset must be deposited to be utilized as collateral.

After providing collateral, visit the **Markets** section to view the borrowing availability and yields. 

Click on the asset you would like to borrow. On the **Reserve Status & Configuration** screen, click borrow.

In the image below, for example, there is **8 HLUSD** available to borrow (based on collateral deposited) against the supported assets.

Set the desired borrow amount based on your available collateral balance, and continue to confirm the transaction. Note that the more you elect to borrow, the greater the impact on your overall [Health Factor](#health-factor) (more on this below).
